Can I come whenever I want?
Yes, adults can choose to participate for the whole course or on a drop in basic.
However over the period of the course participants learn a full dance routine, it is not suggested to join late into the course. We recommend you wait to start on the next course available if you are a beginner to Street Dance.
When you turn up to your very first class you will be asked to fill in a registration form, or you can pre register online beforehand. Participants only need to fill in a registration form once, when you first join the classes.
Beginner or Intermediate classes?
All levels are Welcome!
If you are unsure of which class to join, you could try the beginners class and if it is not challenging enough join the intermediate class the following week.
Beginners Class
This class is for beginners and participants with a little or no experience in dance. Who are looking for enjoyment, exercise and to learn basic moves and routines.
Intermediate Class (AKA Old Skool)
Intermediate classes are suitable for participants with dance experience or are returning to dance. These classes are designed to expand your knowledge of dance and performance skills.
Old Skool (intermediate dance class participants) have opportunities to perform in shows throughout the year. The routines are learnt in the classes and practiced until the group are ready to perform. Performing is optional.
How much does it cost?
There are two payment choices:
Pay for a course consisting of 5 or 6 dance classes, attending once weekly on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
or Pay as You Go
£9 on the door each week you attend.
Payment is taken at the first class at the beginning of each new course. Payable in cheque (made out to Give into Dance) or in cash.
It is much cheaper to pay for a full dance course than to pay each week on the door for one dance class. However the dance courses are offered at a discount price and payment is non refundable.
What is the age range?
The average age range of the participants is 20-40 years.
What should I wear?
Loose comfortable clothing (T-shirt & tracksuit bottoms) and trainers.
What dance style are the classes?
The dance style is a fusion of street, jazz and hip-hop dance. The dance routine depends on what song we are using in the classes.
What will I get out of these classes?
The short courses allow participants to learn a whole dance routine over the period of the course.
Our classes are structured to develop technique, dance style, fitness, co-ordination and confidence.
For those adult participants wishing to perform there are many performance opportunities available throughout the year.
